And another Holy Week Commences.
What does Holy Week mean in the larger context of our faith? It is a time for Reconciliation, Repentance, Remembrance, Renewal and Resurrection. It is the most important time period of the year for Christians because it is essentially a recognition and celebration of the reason for our faith.
This Easter will be the first I'll be spending away from home. Though it makes me sad I won't get to observe this Passion Week with family, I welcome the solitude. Its another opportunity for...Reflection. Around this time of the year, I watch my favorite film adaptation of the Gospels, Franco Zeffirelli's "Jesus of Nazareth." A really awesome user on YouTube has posted up the entire miniseries (here).
"Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."
